Cuban Chili with Nurture Burger Ground Sirloin

Nurture Cuban Chili

Cooks in 30 minutes

Ingredients

1½ lb. 90% Lean Nurture Burger Ground Sirloin

1 medium onion

2 clove garlic

2 bay leaves

2 tsp. chili powder

1 tsp. ground cumin

½ tsp. ground nutmeg

¼ tsp. ground black pepper

¼ tsp. ground allspice

1 tsp. sea salt

¼ tsp. chopped fresh thyme leaves

1 tsp. capers

2 tbsp. chopped pimiento-stuffed green olives

2 can diced green chiles

1 tbsp. honey

1 can 14.5 ounces of stewed tomatoes

1 can 15 ounces of black beans

⅓ cup raisins

½ cup crushed almonds

6 cups cooked rice

12 oz Shredded Colby Cheese

Directions

  1. Brown nurture burger beef over medium-high heat in dutch oven for 3 minutes. Remove contents and set aside in bowl. Reduce heat to medium low. Brown onions and saute until translucent for 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
  2. Make the chili sauce with bay leaves, chili powder, cumin, nutmeg, pepper, allspice, sea salt, thyme, capers, olives, chiles, honey, and tomatoes in dutch over. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes
  3. Finish the chili by adding meat and raisins and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
  4. Cook rice and serve in bowl with chili on top. 
  5. Garnish with almonds and cheese.
