Nurture Cuban Chili
Cooks in 30 minutes
Ingredients
1½ lb. 90% Lean Nurture Burger Ground Sirloin
1 medium onion
2 clove garlic
2 bay leaves
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. ground cumin
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
¼ tsp. ground black pepper
¼ tsp. ground allspice
1 tsp. sea salt
¼ tsp. chopped fresh thyme leaves
1 tsp. capers
2 tbsp. chopped pimiento-stuffed green olives
2 can diced green chiles
1 tbsp. honey
1 can 14.5 ounces of stewed tomatoes
1 can 15 ounces of black beans
⅓ cup raisins
½ cup crushed almonds
6 cups cooked rice
12 oz Shredded Colby Cheese
Directions
- Brown nurture burger beef over medium-high heat in dutch oven for 3 minutes. Remove contents and set aside in bowl. Reduce heat to medium low. Brown onions and saute until translucent for 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
- Make the chili sauce with bay leaves, chili powder, cumin, nutmeg, pepper, allspice, sea salt, thyme, capers, olives, chiles, honey, and tomatoes in dutch over. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes
- Finish the chili by adding meat and raisins and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.
- Cook rice and serve in bowl with chili on top.
- Garnish with almonds and cheese.
